Olive oil has natural antioxidants and serves as an anti-inflammatory. It’s a natural moisturizer for the skin and doesn’t clog the pores. The skin care industry, it seems, would have you believe that the only way to be acne free is by stripping your skin of all traces of oil then frying it with some sort of alcohol based acne medicine. However, contrary to what the skin care industry would like you to think, you NEED oils to have soft healthy skin.
More and more skin care lines are introducing new products containing olive oil. But why waste money on products that merely contain olive oil as well as other chemical ingredients. Head to your local supermarket, pick up a bottle and try it out for yourself. Make sure it is “extra virgin” because it’s the least processed. Choose one that is deeper in color and preferably imported to ensure you are getting it in its purest form.

THANK YOU!!!!! I have had terrible skin for as long as I can remember and started using olive oil a few months ago as my moisture. It works like a charm! My skin is WAY less oily and shiny than it ever has been. People who have skin that over produces oil can fight back with adding oil to the skin... it's like the skin clues in that it has enough and does not over produce... fixing the breakout problem! I LOVE OLIVE OIL and so does my skin :)
my babysitter just told me about this. I never would have thought of it but it makes sense. I haven't tried it yet but I can't wait to do so! I have dry skin in places (forehead and cheeks) and oily skin around the nose and chin. so hopefully I can throw away all those useless creams and lotions that make my face break out.
i love using EVOO on my skin. i rub some in my face and body and then exfoliate using epsom salt! wow!
just rinse with water afterwards and leave the EVOO on to soak in! my face has become firmer and brighter from doing this almost nightly.
